Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme for Minorities, West Bengal 2022-23

The Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme for Minorities, West Bengal 2022–23 is a project of the West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation, under the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department, Government of West Bengal. Its main aim is to provide postgraduate financial aid to minority students in Class 11 in West Bengal. Up to INR 5,000 per month would be given to the chosen candidates.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must –

  • be a domicile of West Bengal
  • and be enrolled in West Bengal-based institutions of higher learning from Class 11 to the postgraduate level.
  • having passed the most recent qualifying examination administered by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, the West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education, a Madrasa, or an undergraduate institution with a minimum cumulative score of 60%. Scholarship OR
  • have earned a diploma from an institution accredited by the AICTE and affiliated with WBSCT&VE&SD for Undergraduate Level Scholarship (in 2nd year of Engineering, Technology, or Pharmacy courses through Lateral Entry) or State Medical Faculty for Undergraduate Level Scholarship with a minimum cumulative GPA of 60% (in 2nd-year Pharmacy course through Lateral Entry) OR
  • have obtained 55% marks in Graduate Courses from Any State University or AICTE Approved Institute of West Bengal for Post Graduate Level Scholarship (Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy) or 53% in Graduate Courses with Honours from Any State University for Post Graduate Level Scholarship (General Education).
  • belong to the minority community (Buddhist, Christian, Jain Muslim, Parsee & Sikh) of West Bengal.
  • have an annual income of not more than INR 2.5 lakh.

Benefits

  • G.(ARTS)& U.G.(COMMERCE) candidates with at least 60% marks in Last Qualifying Exam will get INR 1,000 per month.
  • G. (SCIENCE) candidates and (OTHER PROFESSIONAL COURSES, UGC APPROVED) candidates with at least 60% marks in Last Qualifying Exam will get INR 1,500 per month.
  • G.(ARTS) candidates with at least 53% marks in Last Qualifying Exam will get INR 2,000 per month.
  • G. (COMMERCE) candidates with at least 53% marks for SVMCM in Last Qualifying Exam will get INR 2,000 per month.
  • G.(SCIENCE) candidates with at least 53% marks for SVMCM in Last Qualifying Exam will get INR 2,500 per month.
  • G.(OTHER PROFESSIONAL COURSES, UGC APPROVED) candidates with at least 53% marks in Last Qualifying Exam will get INR 2,500 per month.
  • El. Ed candidates with at least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam(Minimum Qualification H.S) will get INR 1000 per month.
  • POLYTECHNIC (DIPLOMA COURSES) candidates with at least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam will get INR 1500 per month.
  • UG (MEDICAL DEGREE) AND DIPLOMA COURSES candidates with at least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam will get 5,000 and 1,500 respectively per month.
  • HS candidates with at least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam will get INR 1000 per month.
  • NON-NET M.PHIL./NON-NET PH.D. candidates with a date of Enrolment/Date of Registration not before 01.04.2017 is eligible for 5,000 to 8,000 respectively.
  • UG (ENGG.), PG (ENGG.) AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL COURSES (AICTE APPROVED)
    • UG: 1. 60% 2. 60% in Diploma Course from WBSCT&VE&SD for lateral entry scheme candidates will get INR 5000 per month.
  • PG: 55% in Graduation from any State University/AICTE-approved institute in West Bengal candidates will get INR 5000 per month.

Step 3: Click “Proceed” after choosing the district where the applicant’s institute is located.

Step 4: Register after providing the necessary information in the “Student Information” and “Scheme Eligibility” sections.

Step 5: Use the registered user ID and password to log in after completing the registration process.

Step 6: Complete the application, add the necessary files, and submit.

Note – Submit the hard copy of the application form with the photocopies of the bank passbook to the concerned institute.
