JEE Main 2023

Joint Entrance Examination is a reputable national-level entrance examination for engineering courses conducted every year throughout India for providing admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, IITs, Other centrally funded Technical Institutions, and Institutions funded by several participating State Governments. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts JEE Examination since 2019.

It is constituted by two different examinations: the JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is conducted for providing admission into BE or B.Tech courses in various NITs & other Institutions all over the country. JEE Advanced is the criteria to get admission to the well-known Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Important: Ranked top candidates (from all categories as per reservation policy)based on performance in JEE (Main), will qualify to appear in the JEE (Advanced) examination. Students are eligible for admission in IITs & ISM on the basis of all India rank in JEE Advanced. This candidate will be featured in the top 20 percentile in relevant categories.

For admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) like IIITs, etc., and participating institutions: the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40 percent weight-age to school board marks in Class XII or equivalent examination and 60 percent weight-age to JEE (Main).

Eligibility for JEE 2023

Eligibility Criteria for JEE (Main) 2023

For JEE Main, candidates who passed 10+2 ( Class XII) or one appearing for 10+2 (Class XII) are eligible for JEE (Main)2021. However, admission criteria in the concerned institution/university will be followed as prescribed by the concerned university/institution and as per the guidelines & criteria prescribed by AICTE.

List of Qualifying Examinations for JEE Main 2022:The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi

Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.

Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system.

H.S.C. Vocational Examination.

A passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE (Advanced)

Only the top two Lakh scorers who qualify the JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

  • JEE (Advanced) will consist of two question papers, each of three hours in duration.The question papers will be bilingual (in  English and Hindi). Each of the question papers will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.The questions will be of objective type,  designed to test the comprehension, reasoning, and analytical ability of candidates.
  • In some sections, incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks.

The essential requirement for taking JEE Exam

  • Candidates are supposed to carry all the essential things required to take the JEE exam including the Admit Card to gain entry into the examination hall and a good quality Ball Point Pen.
  • For Paper 2 of JEE (Main), the candidates are advised to bring their own clipboard, geometry box set, pencils, erasers, and colored pencils or crayons. 

 

JEE MainExam 2023 Syllabus

The syllabi of both exams are different from each other. The JEE Main syllabus comprises Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and an Aptitude of +2 level.  While in JEE Advanced, the syllabus comprises of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects of +2 level and a few extra topics are to be covered in the exam.

How to apply for JEE Main Exam 2023?

Candidates can visit the official website of JEE i.e., www.jeemain.nic.in to apply online in order to appear in JEE (Main) and/or JEE (Advanced) 2020.  The online registration form will be available on JEE (Main) website.

JEE (Main) Exam registration process to be followed by the desiring candidates is as follows:

  • Candidates have to fill the required details while filling up the form online, then a confirmation page 

with the application number will be generated.

  • Candidates are advised to take a printout of the confirmation page and paste a photograph of your photograph, put a left-hand thumb impression, sign, and write the residential address at appropriate places.
  • The confirmation page must be signed by the guardians and by the officer of the last institution attended. A duly completed confirmation page is to be sent by registered/speed post to The Executive Director, JEE (Main) Secretariat, Central Board of Secondary Education, PS-1- 2, Institutional Area, I.P.Extn. Patparganj, Delhi-110 092 on or before the last date.

Application Procedure for JEE (Advanced)

Top 1,50,000 candidates qualified in Paper-I- i.e JEE (Main)  (including all the categories) are eligible to register for JEE (Advanced) – 2022. To write JEE (Advanced) 2019 all eligible candidates should register online at https://jeeadv.iitd.ac.in during the allotted slot. After online registration, candidates must pay the examination fee as applicable through challan (generated during the registration process) of all SBI branches having core banking solution (CBS) on or before the last date registration is complete only after the payment.

Note: There will be no withdrawal after the registration and payment of the fee, a claim for return will not be entertained under any situation. While registering for JEE ( Advanced 2023) candidates must provide their data on the following:

JEE Exam 2023 Number of Attempts

Number of Attempts for JEE (Main):

A candidate gets three (3) chances throughout the course of successive years to try to pass the JEE (Main) Exam. For instance, JEE is only open to those who passed their plus two exams in 2021 or 2022 or who are taking it in 2022.

Number of Attempts for JEE (Advance):

A candidate is only allowed to take the JEE (Advanced) exam twice in successive years. Candidates who initially attempted IIT JEE 2020 and passed QE in 2021 are eligible to participate in JEE (Advanced) – 2022 if they pass Paper I of JEE (Main) – 2023. IIT-JEE test takers from 2020 and previous are NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in JEE (Advanced) – 2022.

Besides Candidates who have accepted admission by paying the registration fee at any of the IITs, IT-BHU Varanasi, or ISM Dhanbad are NOT ELIGIBLE to appear in JEE (Advanced) – 2023, regardless of whether they continued in any of the programs.
