The University of Burdwan is a top-tier autonomous state research university in Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal, India. It is sometimes referred to as Burdwan University or B. U. The West Bengal Government founded it as a teaching and affiliating university on June 15, 1960, with 30 undergraduate institutions, six graduate departments, and three districts within its purview. The institution now offers 66 postgraduate courses and more than 30 undergraduate courses.In the University category, the University of Burdwan is ranked 85 by NIRF 2021. The university provides Management, Commerce, Arts, Science, and Technology students with UG, PG, Ph.D., and other certificate courses. Through its Centre for Distant and Online Education, the university also provides distance learning.

A wide range of amenities is available to students at the University of Burdwan, Bardhaman. These amenities are offered to make sure that the students have a comfortable time while attending college. Individual dormitories for male and female students, a library with a large selection of books and e-resources, a canteen, and an auditorium are among the amenities offered by Burdwan University. The institution has a total of 11 hostels. On campus, the university has facilities for a number of sports. The university cafeteria offers a selection of meals and drinks. I.T Infrastructure – At the academic campus, the University has put in place a campus-wide Fibre Optic LAN with a Gigabit backbone (Golapbag). A grant worth Rs. 3100 will be given to undergraduate students who are placed first and second and accepted into any postgraduate programme. The scholarship will only be available for two years, or the full length of a PG programme (no other grants will be available, and the scholarship will be awarded on a

The Burdwan University scholarship is offered to undergraduate students and ranges in a monthly award from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000. the contestants with a minimum combined score of 75% (Best of five). Students who have passed the H.S. Examination or its equivalent examination and are enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate programme in engineering, medicine, general education, nursing, or paramedical diploma programmes under the auspices of the Directorate of Medical Education are eligible to apply. Burdwan University provides financial aid for postgraduate study. Scholarship opportunities for graduate students (Rs. 2000 to Rs. 5000 per month).
