The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) was established in 1997 by the government of India and Kerala. It is the fifth Institute of Management in India and has grown rapidly to become one of the largest management schools in the country. The institute offers a range of educational programs, including the Postgraduate Program, Fellow (Doctoral) Program in Management, and consulting assignments. IIMK also holds national and international conferences and is a leader in the development of digital libraries. The institute is located on a 100-acre campus in the city of Calicut in Kerala, and has a world-class infrastructure, including air-conditioned classrooms and guest facilities. IIMK is a Central Autonomous Body managed by a Board of Governors, and the Director serves as the CEO of the institute.

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) offers various facilities to its students, including 10 well-designed hostels, Library & Information Centre (LIC) with over 15,375 books, 360 print and over 900 electronic journals, and 226 educational videos, a computer center with more than 250 high-end personal computers, and Wi-Fi enabled campus. IIMK also offers Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) programs in executive education and has signed a MoU with M/s Hughes Escorts Communications Ltd. for real-time synchronous IDL. The institute promotes international exchange programs and faculty research on topics like Global Competitiveness, Digital Library development, etc. The academic and residential infrastructure for conferences can accommodate up to 250 delegates, with plans to increase it to 550 by 2010-11.
