BITSAT 2023 – Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test
BITSAT, or the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test, is a computer-based online test used to admit students to all Integrated First Degree Programmes offered by BITS Pilani, BITS Goa, and BITS Hyderabad campuses. This deemed university uses BITSAT as a criterion for admission to the Integrated First Degree Programmes.

BITSAT 2022 was held on:
- 2nd July To 9th July 2023(Session 1)
- 3rd August to 7th August 2023 (Session 2)
BITSAT 2023 Eligibility
To be eligible for BITSAT 2023, candidates must have passed the 12th examination of the 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. They must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects, with adequate proficiency in English.
Note that only students who are appearing for the 12th examination in 2023 or who have passed the 12th Examination in 2022 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2023 test. Additionally, students who are currently studying at any of the BITS campuses are not eligible to take the test.
It’s worth mentioning that students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations are guaranteed admission, regardless of their marks in BITSAT, provided that they fulfill the other eligibility conditions mentioned above.

BITSAT 2023 Pattern
- The BITSAT test consists of 150 objective-type questions with four options.
- Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while there is a penalty of 1 mark for each wrong answer.
- However, no marks are awarded for unattempted questions.
The number of questions in each part is as follows:

- There is no time limit for individual parts of the test.
- The candidate can go back and change any of his/her answers to the 150 questions.
- If a candidate answers all 150 questions (without skipping any question), the candidate will have an option of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions, if there is still time left.
- These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology only; four questions from each part.
- Further, once the candidate has opted for extra questions, he cannot go back for correction of any of the earlier answered 150 questions.
Important: All the questions and instructions for the test will be in English only.

The BITSAT exam is normally held in the month of May.
How to apply for BITSAT 2023?
Aspiring candidates should register their names for BITSAT by applying in the prescribed application form online. Complete the application form online at bits-pilani.ac.in. and pay the prescribed fees.
BITSAT 2023 Fees
- The prescribed fee for taking BITSAT is Rs. 3150/- only (Rs. 2650/- for female candidates).
The option to deposit the fee is given on the official website of BITSAT.
BITSAT Admission Process
In addition to applying and appearing for BITSAT candidates have to also apply for admission to BITS giving details of their 12th marks and preferences for different degree programs offered. The prescribed application form for admission, the detailed application procedure, and the final list of Degree programs offered will be available on the BITS website, by May 2021.
